Sony Mobile announced the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at the MWC2018 in Barcelona.
With this next-generation of Xperia, a new concept in design has arrived. Additional updates have kept the XZ2 in line with what premium smartphones should provide in 2018.
Multimedia and imaging have been synonymous with Sony, and the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact get major updates on this front. Both the phones get a new advanced camera, display and audio technology, along with a new design for a sleek modern look.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact continues Sony’s thoughts on size doesn’t matter. The XZ2 Compact has many of the same specifications of its big brother. Without being obvious, the Compact sports a smaller screen.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a 5-inch fullHD+ screen, compared with the 5.7-inch full HD+ one in the Xperia XZ2. The modern 18:9 aspect ratio on both phones reduces the bezels overall.
The screen in these flagship models gets HDR support, in addition to Sony’s BRAVIA and X-reality technology.
Once again, both the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact have front-mounted stereo speakers, powered by Sony’s S-Force Front Surround sound technology. The devices incorporate a new user experience for audio, “Dynamic Vibration System”, which analyses sound to create vibration for a unique experience.
Both XZ2’s contain a 19-megapixel primary camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera each. The camera gets an updated Motion Eye technology capable of recording 4K HDR movies. Sony has also upgraded the slow-motion recording capabilities. Both phones get 960 frames/second “slow-mo” video recording in full HD resolution.
